Back on the Wagon

Day #35

Well, I let up on the food restrictions because of Christmas for about 7-10 days. I am back on the wagon, though. I am annoyed that my face isn't healed, yet. I've been researching nutrition, balancing hormones and inflammation. I don't do well when I don't feel like I can eat anything, though. And I worry that some of the sites talk about losing weight, which is the very last thing I need.

Here are a few sites if anyone wants additional reading:

I thought there were good tips in this article: How to Stop Attacking Yourself

It seems everyone has an opinion about nutrition, allergens in food and what we should or should not eat. It can be really frustrating sometimes, especially when you suspect an allergy. Guess that going to an allergist is the best plan to figure out what is the going to work for each individual, or your doctor or nutritionist.

Today I washed face with water and coconut oil. Used CO and Aubrey moisturizer on face.
My eyes were tired and itchy and a little red, especially in the morning. Around the left side of my nose burned and itched and even bled a tiny bit. It looks a little bumpier today.
I did my body brushing today and shaved using coconut oil. The CO for shaving worked well, but you have to rinse the razor real well.
My right forearm itched today. I get what I like to call a Phantom Itch on it. There is no sign of rash or hives or anything, it just itches. When I scratched at it today I realized I don't recall it being itchy much lately. So, maybe it is another symptom I should track. I experienced some dizziness, light-headedness and heart palpitations today. Could it be my anxiety?
Over the past week or so I have had a couple headaches and one or two other episodes of dizziness and light-headedness.
Today I went makeup free, but I have worn mineral makeup (no mascara) several times over the holiday week.

Been feeling tired lately. Also felt ready to throw in the towel on this whole experiment. But, I guess taking a week to be a little looser with the restrictions helped. Everyone says it takes time, so I will have to practice patience.

Food:

Herbal tea with Stevia
Coconut Oil
Bacon
Scrambled Eggs (with some milk)
White corn tacos with beef, black beans, cheese
Apple
Rice chips
Dark Chocolate
Beef stew with beef, carrots, potatoes, peas and corn
Almonds

Vitamins

I had some brief, light pain in my esophagus after eating dinner tonight (stew). That is uncommon for me. Not sure if it was from vitamins and not enough water or what.

Chilblains is Bothering Me

I was diagnosed with Chilblains earlier this year. I have had it in varying degrees of severity for at least 8 years. It typically affect my toes from the end of October to the end of April every year.

This year seems to be a particularly bad year for me. My toes are super tender and look actually bruised. Unfortunately, ballet is not something that exactly helps them feel better. I did get bigger ballet slippers and tights and that has helped immensely. Wearing the right sized shoes and proper socks are really important with this disease.

It is interesting that Chilblains and Perioral Dermatitis are both inflammatory issues. Hmmm

Burning Lips

Day #22

I had to put lip balm on tonight. I couldn't stand the burning lips anymore. Otherwise my face routine has remained warm water and coconut oil. The side of my nose still looks rashy and was a little itchy today. Under my left eye is looking better but there were a few red dots under my right eye today. Maybe from the itching yesterday.

Got a stress headache in the evening/night.

I love Saturday

Day #19

Washed with warm water and used coconut oil. No lip balm. UGH! I licked and bit my lips a lot. It's very hard not to, which is one of the reasons I use lip balm so much...it keeps me from doing that.

Did yoga and body brushing.

Face looks a little more broken out today, but I still feel like it might be getting better overall.

Cleansing with the coconut oil at night is pretty awesome. It gets the gunk out just as good as those pore strips! It also makes my skin feel protected rather than stripped.

Food:

Herb Tea
Rice Cakes
Nat. Peanut Butter
Fruit Spread
Apple
Cutie
Brown Rice
Zucchini (butter)
Canadian bacon
Veggie chips
Celery
Hash browns and ketchup
Almonds

Keep on Keepin' on

Day #18

Today I washed with warm water and used coconut oil and glycerin. I wore the sugar glycerin solution mask for an hour or so. I used coconut oil on my lips. No lip balm today. I did use the body brush and did some jumping prior to shower.

My face looks about the same as yesterday, feels a little drier and rougher. By my nose still feels and looks bumpy/rashy. Chin feels bumpier, like it is breaking out.

That's about it. I am sad about the Connecticut elementary school tragedy. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones.

Here is another blog entry I found about Perioral Dermatitis: Fir and Feathers

Food:

Herb tea (stevia)
Corn flakes
Milk
Apple
Rice cake
Nat. Peanut butter
Fruit spread
Cutie
Almonds
Vege chips

McDonalds french fries, apples, chicken nuggets (I know, bad)
